Walking into Clifford Pier at the Fullerton Hotel last Wednesday, you could not help but feel transported back to a glamourous 1950’s New York. Media and exclusive guests graced the grand re-opening of the Harry Winston salon, being privy to elegant and exquisite collections by the American jeweller, including diamond and ruby creations flown from New York for this special occasion.
Our jazz singer, Alemay Fernandez, charmed the guests together with her all-star 4-piece jazz band. She opened the show with a special lyrical arrangement of Diamonds Are Forever to cater specifically to Harry Winston alongside a fashion show that featured actress and model Sheila Sim. Their two sets comprised mostly of old-school swing jazz pieces, adding to the event’s classy atmosphere. At the end of the night, Alemay concluded the event with a bang, singing the Marilyn Monroe classic, Diamonds Are A Girl’s Best Friend.
