It has been a whirlwind ride for us this January and we were all gearing up for what’s definitely going to be a major highlight for Vocalise and our string quartet this year.
Together with IMC Live Global & Kenn C Music, Vocalise String Quartet, led by our Music Director, Lester, had the opportunity to join the band for award-winning Taiwanese Mandopop singer Angela Zhang 「 张韶涵 」at her all-new ‘JOURNEY「 旅程 」World Tour 2019’ on 19th January 2019 at Singapore Expo Hall 1. It has been 3 years since Angela Zhang last held a concert in Singapore.
Apart from us, the rest of the band members and dancers are all touring with Angela for her World Tour, which makes it all the more exciting for us to be playing at our home ground.
Rehearsal and sound check was swift, going through some of the pieces as requested by Music Director, Kenn C, and Angela herself. She ran through the positions with the dancers and you can see how serious she is about her work.
Backstage was buzzing with activities after the sound check as selected fans had the opportunity to meet with the Star. She went for a quick make up before appearing to meet her fans for photo opportunity.
Prior to the start of the concert, the production team & band gathered for a team cheer, wishing Angela a successful concert. We went onstage to be on standby and the hall was filled with 3000 fans.
The energy was amazing throughout the concert and our quartet, was so high from the music that they stood to play some of the pieces, partying with the crowd.
We are definitely looking forward to the next opportunity to perform at a pop concert!
