THE LADY fronting LIX
Combining her love for Er hu and electronic dance music (EDM) together, LIX is a brainchild of Vocalise’s Exclusive Artiste, Likie. Having played the Er hu since the age of 10, Likie has racked up an impressive portfolio of performances. But achievement aside, she had a greater vision to turn traditional, Chinese music into something new and exciting that would shine on stage.
Her quest led her to the discovery of Er hu and brasses – which she not only thought sounded surprisingly good together, but the introduction of brasses gave the ensembles the oomph and glory it needed. With her added experience in writing EDM music, Likie hopes to marry these unlikely instruments under this exciting genre to provide their audiences with a captivating and unique experience.
