We’re always up for customisations at weddings! This time, we were part of the wedding of Allen & Cerlyn. The plan was for Allen to sing for Cerlyn’s march in followed by our band’s accompaniment for the couple’s romantic first dance!
We were all set up early in anticipation for the groom’s quick rehearsal and to receive our final briefing for the wedding’s highlight! The plan was to announce the couple’s arrive when the groom suddenly appears on stage, surprising the guests with their performance.
Accompanied by our very own Vocalise String Quartet, the couple had their solemnisation amidst close friends and family. The beautiful bride marched in to our quartet’s Canon in D followed by our quartet’s accompaniment during the solemnisation ceremony with our wedding mainstays such as The Flower Song and Trumpet Voluntary.
Guests were then ushered into the banquet venue where a sumptuous luncheon awaited. It was a touching moment to remember as the groom serenaded the crowd with Perfect whilst the love of his life entered the space. Even we were struggling to hold tears back.
As the newlyweds took to the dance floor, vocalist Genevieve accompanied by our keyboardist and guitarist performed their rendition of Jon Mclaughlin’s So Close as the couple performed their first dance to an audience filled with their loved ones. Ending off with a confetti shower, the sweet and intimate performance was made even more magical.
Our band also won the hearts of the guests as they performed a variety of evergreen English and Mandopop songs such as Fly Me To The Moon and 小幸运 . With the knowledge that Allen and Cerlyn’s guests were largely Cantonese, our band also threw in a special item at the end with Genevieve’s rich vocals in a performance of a Cantopop favourite for weddings – 喜歡你!
Congratulations Allen and Cerlyn! We could not have been more honoured to be a part of your wedding celebration.
