On 18 January, Vocalise had the pleasure to present two of our exclusive artistes, LIX and Vocalise Chinese Quartet (VCQ) to perform at Esplanade: All Things New.
It was held at Esplanade Jubilee Plaza with the aim to celebrate new music as Singapore artists embark on brand new chapters of their musical journeys.
LIX performed the first set and commanded stage presence with their unique combination of western brass and oriental strings.
They were pieces arranged by Likie, the lead Er Hu with pieces mashing up classical with EDM music.
With their bold sound and unique set-up, it attracted the attention of many passers-by.
The band performed toe-tapping songs like “This Is What You Came For” and “Sai Ma”.
Up next, VCQ refreshed the crowd with their renditions of traditional music.
Dressed in traditional chinese wear, the quartet performed songs like “A Whole New World”, “Senorita”, and various Chinese New Year hits.
