After 1.5 years, we’ve finally brought our artistes LIVE to you! Despite the everchanging regulations, we’re very grateful for the support from the audiences to make this event a success.
The origin of Unplugged Offline began in September 2020 where we produced Shopee Live! Unplugged to bring a different theme to our audiences weekly from Top 40s hits to Mambo Jambo Night. This platform is curated to give our artistes opportunities to perform whilst bringing our audiences live music safely when entertainment businesses closed in Singapore as a result of the pandemic. Through Shopee Live! Unplugged, we had the chance to interact with our audiences online. Audiences could submit song requests and dedications on the livestream in the comforts of their own home, replicating the ambiance of a live performance.

This process presents an opportunity for us to develop our live-streaming capabilities to adapt to the unprecedented times in the events industry and enabled us to bring live music safely to weddings and event despite the changing regulations.
Since the easing of measures allows for live performances, we want to let our audiences experience live music in an intimate setting.
Unplugged Offline presents the audiences with 1 hour of live performance with our Jazz Duo, Top 40s Duo and Multilingual Duo on 25th May and 1st June at Victoria Theatre Dance Studio to overcome the mid-week blues!
To retain the essence of a livestream, we set up a telegram channel where audiences poured in their song requests and engage with our artistes on stage. Here’s what went down!
25th May - Our jazz Duo
We launched the event with our Jazz Duo featuring Imelda and Matthew as our vocalist and pianist for the evening! Together, they swoon the crowd with Over the Rainbow and La Vie En Rose. They were joined by Joshua on the Saxophone and later on the Guitar to perform Hang on Little Tomato, 情人的眼泪, Misty and At Last alongside other Jazz pieces.
We are grateful for the support of the audiences, especially our artistes family and friends who filled up the studio with so much joy and laughter.

1st June - our top 40s & Multilingual duo
On 1st June, we have our Top 40s Duo – Cheng & Em perform in the evening and our Multilingual Duo, Benita & Jee Yon perform that night.
Our Top 40s Duo features Cheng & Em, our guitarist and singer, to perform for the enthusiastic audience who are constantly sending in their song requests and on our telegram channel that evening. They performed crowd favourites such as Put Your Records On, Just The Two of Us as well as hits such as 如果可以 and 怎麼了 requested by the audience. It was heartwarming to see the audience grooving and singing along to familiar tunes!
Cheng & Em also took this chance to recollect the memories on Shopee Unplugged Livestream to share with the audiences their insights on performing behind the camera.

Lastly, we have our singer and guitarist duo, Benita & Jee Yon later that night to mesmerize the crowd with their Multilingual talent. They performed a mix of English, Hokkien, Cantonese, Mandarin, and a Korean song specially requested by one of the artiste’s Korean friends.
The multilingual duo performed 最佳拍檔 and 身騎白馬 which brought back memories of going to the KTV with our parents. They also performed How Deep is Your Love, 消愁 and 만에 하나 (If Only) requested by the audience. We are glad to see the audiences enjoy Benita & Jee Yon’s share about their childhood and the range of music they have to offer!
