VSQ performs at Istana State Dinner

On 27 August, Vocalise String Quartet (VSQ) got the opportunity to perform at a State Banquet hosted by President Mdm Halimah Yacob at the Istana. It was held in honour of Turkmenistan president, Gurbanguly Berdimuhammedow’s first state visit to Singapore.

VSQ performed in the Banquet Hall while guests dined. For such a prestigious dinner, VSQ performed an array of pieces from classic, jazz, pop and local favourites.

VSQ played familiar songs like our mash up of Home, a Singaporean classic, with Bach’s cello suite, we named Home with Bach. Pieces like Autumn Leaves, Flower Duet, Cinema Paradiso were also some of the other pieces performed.

It was an honour for us when Ms Grace Fu, Member of Parliament, came to thank the quartet after the dinner. It truly warmed our hearts and made us feel appreciated.

Vocalise is proud to have been part of that evening.
